Startup Delayer version 3.0 build 332 release Cancelled

By Cliff Cawley on 28th May 2013

I've cancelled build 332 for now until I get a better Installer process in place.

I got excited as I upgraded to Windows 8 and the latest Visual Studio tools, but forgot that everyone would have to update their machines if they weren't running Windows 8.

I'm going to spend some time on a better Installer experience and then I'll release build 333 instead.

Thanks for your patience.

Build 332 of Startup Delayer now has support for Windows 8 (with faster startup) and some fixes for Raid drives. It's also now using .Net 4.0. If you don't have that installed, please install.

You will need to ensure you have .Net 4.0 and Visual Studio 2012 Runtimes installed.

You can grab the build from the Product page or use the Update button in the Options Window of Startup Delayer.

Changes in this build:

  • Added auto tweak for Windows 8 so that any startup delay value is set to 0
  • Updated the Update Available text to include the product name
  • Updated the Disk Idle detection to use Logical disks. This fixes an issue with Raid0 split virtual devices
  • Tweaked when the Startup complete message is shown
  • Upgraded to .net 4
  • Optimized the Running Tasks view by not querying Access denied applications mutliple times
  • Updated Languages
